Invitation to meetings on Nordic cooperation for global democracy, Copenhagen, December 15 th

Dear friends from the Nordic countries,

Friends of the Earth Finland (Maan ystävät) wishes to invite you all to two
important meetings in Copenhagen on Sunday, December 15th.

The first meeting is a workshop discussing Nordic Cooperation on
Privatisation. This workshop is part of the "Our world is not for sale!"
Conference on privatisation, competitive tender and alternatives". See the
programme of the whole event at http://www.cph2002.org.

The second meeting, at 8 pm on Sunday evening, is on Nordic cooperation for global democracy and on the Nordic dimension of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: Coalition for Comprehensive Democracy.

Attached are the agendas of the two meetings as well as information about the the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam initiative: one from Finland, in swedish and one from India, in english.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a new long-term and pro-active initiative for
democratic regeneration, solidarity and justice across the globe. We think
it provides a very interesting opportunity  for political work to break the
neo-liberal hegemony, to resist the loss of political participation and for
the struggle against racism and fascism.

The best political traditiions in the Nordic countries are under pressure
but we still have fine traditions of equity, democratic participation,
ecological sanity and international solidarity which we can fall back upon
and which we need to nurture and develop further. We like to think of the
meeting in Copenhagen as the first meeting of a new Nordic chapter of
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

Welcome to this exciting event.
